- Go to bed early, and wake up early.
- Exercise every day for at least 30 minutes.
- Forgive often, and laugh much.
- Focused prayer first thing in the morning following the pattern of Luke 11:2–4. We are not to merely or constantly say it by rote, because we must concentrate and believe in every single word we utter (Mark 6:7). (There was one weekend in my life when I repeatedly said the Lord's prayer. It had miraculous results only because I hung on every word.)
- Prioritize your to-do list, but be flexible.
- Meet more people, and show them you care. Especially those that most other people do not want to talk with.
- Contribute and volunteer but save money and time for yourself, too.
- Mentor.
- Grocery shop only once per week, not daily, and only purchase food for fuel with maybe one treat (not sugar or dairy or grain).
- Limit purchases to only those that will help you.
- Never Give Up, but set a limit in some circumstances.
- Think positively.
- March to the beat of a different drummer.
- Be nice and kind to others.
- Practice the Golden Rule.
- Listen more, and talk less.
- Be empathetic.
- Never stop learning.
- Give advice only when asked and you know it will be considered.
- [Go the extra mile.] [Give everyone three chances. Anymore than that, and you'd be a doormat.]
- Be open-minded, but there is a limit.
- Participate in a local church congregation (assembly), because if you are not part of the body of God, you will have a hard time being with God. The heart cannot function without the rest of the body. The body has to be working together, and if it is not, it is not a true body of believers. Go to church to give as well as receive.
- Do not read "news" articles that have no space for comments.
- Speak up when warranted. When a person says something you believe is untrue or inaccurate, one might feel compelled to correct them or edify them. However, others perceive this as know-it-all behavior. Therefore, hold your tongue unless you believe it can make a significant difference. For example, when people are in direct opposition to God or when they try to rewrite history.
